DIS book drive runs through Feb. 22

With spring right around the corner, now is a good time to do a bit of cleaning.  DIS is sponsoring a Book Drive from Monday, Feb. 11, through Friday, Feb. 22, to help celebrate I Love to Read Month. The school is partnering with a local resident who is offering to donate $1 for each book students bring to the office. Book fair approaches

The elementary and intermediate school media centers are teaming up for the DINO-MITE book fair later this month. There will be books for all students from preschool through eighth grade. The book fair, located in the elementary’s second-floor multi-purpose room, will run from noon to 8 p.m. during conferences beginning on Monday, Jan. 21. Third clothing drive for veterans a success

The Third Annual Clothing Drive -- Honoring Those Who Served, Helping a Veteran in Need, was a success again this year. Students and their families donated clothing, coats, hygiene kits and more, which were then delivered to two organizations, the St. Cloud Veterans Affairs Hospital and the Community Resource and Referral Center of Minneapolis.
