Meet Mr. Baughman

Prior to becoming Assistant Principal at DHS I taught Social Studies, first in Anne Arundel County in Maryland and more recently as a member of the Delano High School Social Studies Department.

I received my Bachelor of Arts in political science in 2004 and a Bachelor of Science in education in 2005 from St. Cloud State University. I then earned a Master of Science in curriculum and instruction from McDaniel College in Westminster, MA in 2008, and followed with my Sixth Year Certificate in Educational Administration and Leadership from St. Cloud State University in 2011.

I am very excited and honored to be the assistant principal of Delano High School. I am passionate about education and working collaboratively with our highly qualified staff, students, parents, and the greater Delano community to positively impact students and promote a positive school culture to accomplish set goals, rise above challenges, and continuously reflect and strive to improve.

My leadership philosophy embraces developing, maintaining, and enhancing positive relationships built on communication, respect, and trust.

Delano Public Schools is an extension of the community where teachers work diligently to prepare students to be engaged, contributing members of society. I look forward to building on those strengths and developing unique traditions in the future 7-12 high school.

It is a pleasure to call Delano home along with my son, Calvin. Aside from teaching, I enjoy reading, staying active, and learning new Lego building skills from Cal.
