Delano Elementary School will host a free speaking event featuring Rob Winker and Amy Lou Anderson of Playmore and Prosper from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5. The speakers are sponsored by a grant from the United Way, and will share strategies for coping with anxiety. School climate survey coming

Delano Public Schools is conducting a second survey on school climate to gather important feedback from students, staff and district families. The objective is to ensure continuous improvement, and this input is highly valued. Delano Public Schools is currently seeking applicants for an open school board seat.  The school board accepted the resignation of chair Mark Larson in August after Larson moved out of state. Vice chair Lisa Seguin has assumed the chair’s duties in Larson’s absence, and the board is seeking a new member to return to its usual seven-member complement.  Board members hope to fill the opening by the end of October. 'Touch a Truck' draws a crowd

The Touch a Truck event on Saturday included a special feature - a helicopter from North Memorial that dropped in during the event. The Delano ECFE/Preschool event brought out a big crowd that organizers gave up counting at 425.
