Suicide Prevention Day at DHS - Wednesday, April 6

Posted on: Apr 5, 2016

In 2014, there were 42,773 deaths by suicide in the United States.  Suicide is the second leading cause of death for 15-24 year olds.  On Wednesday, April 6, the Delano High School COMPASS program will be conducting a Suicide Prevention and Awareness Day.  There will be sidewalk chalk messages of hope as students enter the school, bracelets that will be handed out to all students, a Banner of Hope for students to sign at lunch, and speaker Janet Benz will give a personal testimony to 11th and 12th graders about losing a child and the healing process.  Let's all help prevent suicide in our schools and community!
