Students will plan, organize, and compose informative and argumentative writing to address a specific audience and purpose.  Students will read ninth grade literature and apply a variety of strategies to expand vocabulary. The class will read informational, expository, and persuasive texts, using a variety of strategies and will demonstrate literal, interpretive, inferential, and evaluative comprehension. The class will respond to, analyze, interpret, and evaluate a wide variety of fiction and nonfiction selections.
