Delano Middle School Home Page

Delano Middle School is a nationally recognized school of excellence. In 2003, the U.S. Dept.of Education named Delano Middle School a Blue Ribbon School. We were one of 115 public schools nation-wide to receive this prestigious award and the only middle school in Minnesota to be recognized.

Global Service Day is December 12 from 8:15-9:30 A.M.

Nov 19, 2014

Each December our students participate in a school-wide event known as Global Service Day. On this day students put forth their talents to make the world a little brighter for people in our schools, community and beyond.  Every student is assigned an activity that will focus on helping others.

In the past, families have given numerous items to help our students make this day a big success.  Please check out the PowerPoint Presentation to learn how you can contribute.

If you are interested in volunteering, please contact the Volunteer Coordinators on the Delano website (You will need to watch the video, if you have not done so already, which will allow you to volunteer). Please be aware that because adults are needed to assist with certain activities, you will probably not be placed with your child.

Thank you in advance for all of your help and generosity in making this day possible!

National Bullying Prevention Month

Oct 14, 2014

October is National Bullying Prevention Month. In schools across the country, students and educators will be working together to create events that raise awareness of bullying prevention and show people how to create a culture where bullying is unacceptable.

On Wednesday, October 22, all students and staff are encouraged to wear orange as a symbol of our commitment to prevent bullying. In addition, students and staff can sign a paper foot print, symbolizing their pledge to stomp out bullying. The paper foot prints will be handed out by DMS Student Council Wednesday morning before school in the commons area.
