Six Delano students in the Talent Development Program recently competed in the National History Day competition in Washington, D.C. with 3,000 students from 50 states, 14 U.S. territories and three countries!
Eighth-grade student Alexa Huotari’s website on Thomas Paine’s “Common Sense” earned her the 6th place National Title and Minnesota’s Junior Category Outstanding Entry Award! Alexa is the first Delano student to place at the national level!
Both junior performance groups (Oliver Berg and Jacob Werth, and Zach Lau, Josen Schwehr, Winston Berg) had exceptional performances competing against the best of the best in the first round, said Heidi O'Donnell, Talent Development Coordinator.
Congratulations to these students for their accomplishments.
