We want to give a big shout-out to our amazing school counselors at the high school, Ryan Tool, Cassidy Nelson and Jodie Fredrickson! Thank you for the care, support and guidance you provide our students and staff every day. You make a difference and we are grateful to have you at Delano Public Schools.
Ryan Tool
Third year as a school counselor at DHS.
"I love being a counselor at Delano because we do a great job of challenging students to grow through many different opportunities while still providing a lot of support, encouragement, and attention."
Advice to students: Be willing to say yes, try new things, and do your best at it. You will be amazed at all the opportunities that come your way when you do that.
Jodie Fredrickson
Fourth year as a school counselor at DHS.
"I love the small community and I'm able to know most of the students.
Being able to be helpful or a bright spot in someone's day warms my heart."
Advice to students: You can do hard things and make sure to take time for yourself!
Cassidy Phelps (Nelson)
Third year as a school counselor at DHS.
"One thing I love about my job at Delano High School is the opportunity to engage students in conversations about their future college and career journey. We have multiple events every year, along with classroom lessons, registration planning, Xello, and individual student meetings which bring me so much joy!"
Advice to students: The more information and knowledge you can acquire, the more informed decisions you can make in the future. Do not miss out on free opportunities to learn and explore every day!
