At the Feb. 24 school board meeting, the board approved the 2025/2026 school calendar, developed by a committee of representatives from DES, DIS, DHS, and Community Ed. The committee collected feedback from parents, staff, teachers, and students on breaks and early/late start days. While no calendar can please everyone, the committee believes this one balances academic and extracurricular needs. Notably, for the 2025/26 school year, the previously scheduled two-hour late starts every third Wednesday of the month will now be two-hour early releases, with school ending two hours earlier than a regular day. Transportation and food services will accommodate this change.
