Subject   Assignments
Morning Meeting This will be done each morning. The students will listen to announcements for the day, share if it is their sharing day about what is happening in their lives and play a game together. This is a great time to set the mood of the classroom for the day.
Spelling 
  •  Each student is required to study their spelling words.
  • There will be a final test each Friday.
 Math
  • There will be no math switch this year. After a large group lesson, we will break into center groups for math this year to hit differentiation. 
  • Each week the students will get 2 home links a week.
  • If work book pages are not completed in class, they are expected to be done as homework and returned the following day.
 Reading
  • There will be  pages assigned from their reading workbooks each week to complete in class.
  • There will be a weekly quiz after each story we complete.
  • A unit assessment will be given approximately every 4 weeks.
 Writing
  • There will be exciting writing topics throughout the year. We will have different themes to work on this year and I can't wait to see their creativity grow!
  • We will be working on the 6 traits of writing.
  • Handwriting packets will be completed in class.
 Science
  • Science work is done in the classroom.
  • There will be tests given at the end of each unit.
 Computer
  • Projects will be completed at the school.

Birthday Treats Each child can celebrate their birthday on their special day! If you have a summer birthday, please bring it on your half birthday! If your birthday falls during a school break (MEA, Thanksgiving, Winter Break or Spring Break) Please bring the week before or the following week. If you decide to bring a treat to share, it must be a factory processed item and individually, prepackaged  snack. For example, the snack sized treats like Goldfish, Fruit Roll-Ups, Chips Ahoy, Cheez-Its,  Little Debbie snacks, fruit snacks, or maybe a unique pencil or pen.
