School climate survey coming

Posted on: Sep 13, 2019

Delano Public Schools is conducting a second survey on school climate to gather important feedback from students, staff and district families. The objective is to ensure continuous improvement, and this input is highly valued.

A similar Panorama Education survey was taken late last fall, and this follow-up survey, along with another follow-up next spring, will allow the district to track changes from the baseline data collected last year.

The survey will be released via email from Panorama Education to parents and staff members on Wednesday, Sept. 18, and the window to provide feedback will close on Tuesday, Sept. 24. Parents and guardians should watch their inboxes for a message from Panorama Education, and note that the email will come directly from the provider rather than Delano Schools.

Elementary students will take the survey during school hours on Thursday, Sept. 19. Intermediate students will take the survey on Friday, Sept. 20, and high school students will follow on Monday, Sept. 23. Student versions of the survey were emailed to parents on Wednesday, Sept. 11. Hard copies are also available to review at each school office. Parents who wish to have their students opt out of the survey should provide a note to their school office before their student is scheduled to take the test.

Surveys are tailored for each group, and all responses are completely confidential. They will take approximately 10 minutes for students and families to complete, and will take somewhat longer for staff members.

All are encouraged to take this opportunity to share their views and support our pursuit of educational excellence.
