School board filing period is Aug. 2-16

Have you ever considered serving as a member of the school board?

The filing period to become a candidate opens on Tuesday, Aug. 2, and continues until 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 16.

Four seats will be up for election on Tuesday, Nov. 8, each for a term of four years. The seats up for election are currently held by Corey Black, Rachel Depa, Jennie Rosenow and Lisa Seguin.

Affidavits of candidacy will be available at the Delano Public Schools District Office, 700 Elm Ave E, Delano, during the filing period. The filing fee for this office is $2. A candidate for this office must be an eligible voter, must be 21 years of age or more on assuming office, must have been a resident of the school district for at least thirty (30) days before the general election, and must have no other affidavit on file for any other office in the same election.
