The Delano High School and the Elementary School recently got a hefty donation thanks to the Coborn’s Inc., More School Rewards Program.
“Coborn’s Inc. has a strong community caring, service and support tradition,” said Joe Tipka, Store Director of Coborn’s Delano. “We emphasize the importance of being involved and giving back. That’s why every year, we donate $150,000 to local schools and childcare organizations as part of MORE School Rewards.”
Supporters (shoppers) of the program designate their preferred school or childcare facility via the MORE Rewards website or mobile app then shop for participating items. Purchases of the specific products earn points for the school they chose. The size of the school's donation depends on how many points they have received.
The elementary school will use the $1,503 donation for building-wide experiences and activities for students, such as bringing in guest speakers, book Authors or theatre groups. At the high school, the $1,185 donation is given to the DHS Parents in Education group to use for enhancing student experiences, such as student field trips or activities.
