DHS prepares for homecoming

As fall weather arrives, Delano High School is preparing for its annual homecoming celebration.

Festivities will commence on Monday, Sept. 24, and continue through Saturday, Sept. 29.

Highlights include dress up days, powder puff football and he-man volleyball, an appearance by the school’s friends from China, a pep fest, various sporting events, the coronation and a dance.

Candidates for homecoming royalty were announced last week. Queen candidates are Lindsey Dreger, Maggie Jacobs, Anna Keranen, Michaela Paskach and Sophie Seurer. King candidates are Sam Kern, Trent Peterson, Jacob Praska, Joey Snell and Carson vanSytzama.

Coronation will take place on Friday afternoon in the Tiger Activity Center.

Dress-up day themes include “USA Day” on Monday, “Country vs. Country Club” on Tuesday, “Decade Day” on Wednesday, “Class Color Day” on Thursday and “Tiger Pride” on Friday.
