DHS open house moved to Nov. 8

Because the Delano High School football team will play in the first round of the state tournament on Friday, Nov. 9, the DHS open house and Faculty Follies show previously planned for that evening have been shifted to Thursday, Nov. 8.

On Thursday the Delano Legion will conduct a ceremonial flag-raising at 6 p.m. A brief program celebrating renovations and new construction in the high school will begin at 6:15 p.m. and conclude with a ribbon-cutting by students. Visitors can take self-guided tours of the facility from 6:30 p.m. through 9 p.m., and Faculty Follies begins at 7 p.m. Refreshments will be served.

Visitors will be able to explore the Performing Arts Center, new media center, the art suite, redesigned academic areas and common spaces, and more.

When Tiger Activity Center locker rooms are completed in December, the school district’s three-year building project will be complete.

Fabulous Armadillos
Following the state football game at 7 p.m. on Friday in St. Cloud, one of Central Minnesota’s most popular bands, The Fabulous Armadillos, will present “Stadium Rock: AC/DC to Zeppelin and everything in between,” at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 10. The well-connected cover band prides itself on “spot on recreations of songs from many genres of music,” and will focus on classic rock in its Delano PAC debut.

Arts showcase
On Sunday afternoon, Nov. 11, the facility will host a school and community arts showcase beginning at 1 p.m. Groups performing include the seventh-grade band, eighth-grade band, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Community Band, Jazz I, Ensemble Choir, Varsity Choir, Concert Choir and Sound Revolution.
