Developing safe routes to school

This year we are working with the city and county, with funding from the Minnesota Department of Transportation, to create a Safe Routes to School plan. The planning process will examine transportation in and around the school campus, with a focus on providing safe walking and biking options to and from school.

How you can help
There are two steps to take before Tuesday, Nov. 10:

1. Parents, please take approximately 5 minutes to fill out this survey about walking and biking to school, even if your students normally ride the bus or are driven to school. There is also a version in Spanish.

2. In addition, all are encouraged to provide information about walking and bicycling near school by completing this interactive web map. You can identify routes, barriers, opportunities and more.

Your responses will be kept anonymous and the information gathered through the survey will help to guide recommendations that will make it easier, safer and more enjoyable for students to walk or bike to school.
