Candidates sought for open school board seat

Delano Public Schools is currently seeking applicants for an open school board seat. 

The school board accepted the resignation of chair Mark Larson in August after Larson moved out of state. Vice chair Lisa Seguin has assumed the chair’s duties in Larson’s absence, and the board is seeking a new member to return to its usual seven-member complement. 

Board members hope to fill the opening by the end of October. The new member will serve until Dec. 31, 2020, and a two-year position will be on the November, 2020, ballot to complete the remainder of Larson’s term.

Applications for the position can be filed through the district website or in person at the district office (700 Elm Ave. E., Delano, MN). Applications must be submitted by noon on Monday, Sept. 30.
