It is the policy of Delano Elementary School not to prepare homework in advance of student absence due to vacations. Work missed, along with a reasonable amount of time to complete the work, will be given to students upon their return to school.

Second graders are asked to spend an average of 20 - 30 minutes with homework per night as an extension of their school day. Types of homework activities typically assigned are:

 

A) Study spelling words : 10 minutes

B) Oral reading and/or independent silent reading : 10 - 15 minutes

C) Math home links : 5 minutes

D) Addition & subtraction facts : 5 - 10 minutes
