Delano Area Scholarship Association

Dear Parents,

Your son or daughter’s senior year is an exciting time. It is a year not only spent finishing his/her high school education but also one preparing for the future. Whether that next step is attending a four-year college or a two-year technical or community college, the financing of this post-secondary education is a huge undertaking. In your search for financial aid, we would like you to be aware of a local scholarship opportunity available to the Delano Senior High School Class of 2017.

The Delano Area Scholarship Association is a local organization made up entirely of volunteers from the Delano area. Its purpose is to raise scholarship funds that aid high school graduates in the pursuit of higher education. This past spring, 31 seniors from the Delano High School Class of 2016 were presented with individual awards of $1,000. (The number of scholarships and the dollar amounts awarded in any given year is determined by the amount raised in that respective year.)

We invite your student to participate in fundraising for this worthwhile cause. Various Delano Scholarship fundraisers are held throughout the year. Students will be notified through school announcements about these fundraisers. Sign-up sheets for student participation are posted in the high school office prior to each fundraiser.

After they have completed their required fundraising activities, the formal application process will begin. Applications for the Delano Area Scholarship Association scholarship will be available in the high school office February 10, 2017. The completed application forms must be postmarked no later than March 11, 2017. No LATE or INCOMPLETE applications will be accepted. Information regarding the fundraisers and applications will also be available on the Delano Area Scholarship Association link located on the Delano High School Web page.
