Give Your Time

DES PIE meetings are held monthly on Tuesdays at 7:00 PM in the first floor multipurpose room, for approximately one hour. Your input and support are vital to the organization's continued success and will be greatly appreciated!

Here are some ways you can help throughout the year:

Fall Fundraiser Volunteers are needed to assist the coordinator with calculating and matching orders with payments. A great opportunity to do at home and at your convenience. Must have access to MS Excel.	2-3 hours Sept-Oct Fall Fundraiser
Sock Hop & Game Night: Friday, October 28th 3 volunteers are needed to help with planning concessions, simple games, and volunteer coordination. At the event, over 55 volunteers are needed. A great fall evening of socializing and dancing!	1-5 hrs Sept-Oct
Football Concession Stand Work one night in the concession stand at a Delano High School football game this fall.	1-3 hours Sept/Oct
Family Fun Night: February 2 Volunteers are needed this fall to help with planning. At the event, many volunteers are needed to help in the concessions and at various stations. A winter night to get out with the whole family and have fun! This event is held at the Tiger Activity Center playing games, basketball, swimming, bounce house fun, art projects and MORE!	1-3 hours Winter
Memory Book One volunteer per grade level is needed to take pictures of events in school and in classrooms then forward them to the coordinator.	Varies Ongoing
Tiger Fun Fair: April Many volunteers are needed to help at our largest spring carnival at the Tiger Activity Center, to gather donations and prizes, help in the concessions and games etc. A great event – Lots of fun for the whole family!	Varies April

Volunteer on Call Can’t decide which of the above you would like to do? Consider being a volunteer that a PIE member can call when we are “in-a-bind” for any of the above or other PIE sponsored events.	Varies

You can help enhance our students’ education at no additional cost by using the following programs.

DQ_logo DQ Family Nights

Visit the Delano Dairy Queen on DQ Family Nights (approximately every other Wednesday night during the school year from 5:00 - 8:00 pm) and 15% of sales are donated to our school. Find out when your child will have artwork displayed - Schedule.

boxtop_logo Box Tops for Education

This is a terrific program that gives us three ways to raise money for our school.

1. Clip Box Tops from General Mills products and send them to school. Each Box Top is worth 10¢.

2. Shop online at the Box Tops Marketplace. There are over 240 companies that participate in this program. Our school earns up to 8% of each qualifying purchase at no additional cost.

3. Use a Box Tops Visa® card and a full 1% of each purchase goes back to our school.

Through the Take Charge of Education program, Target will donate an amount equal to 1% of Target Visa and Target Card purchases made at Target and Target.com, and 1/2% of Target Visa purchases made elsewhere, to our school.

Clip and Save Cambell's Labels

With Labels for Education, we can purchase needed supplies for our school with 'points.' Remember, you no longer need to clip the entire label – just the UPC code itself.

Shop online using Schoolpop.com. There are over 300 companies that participate in this program. Our school earns up to 25% of each qualifying purchase at no additional cost.

Use a SchoolPop Visa card and every purchase you make from anywhere contributes 1% to our school.

Kemps “Give ‘Em Five” Program

Collect the specially marked caps or proof-of-purchase symbols from Kemps milk products and earn money for our school. Each stickered milk cap or proof-of-purchase symbol is worth 5¢. More information.

Land O Lakes “Save Five For Schools”

Save the caps with the Save Five For Schools™ stickers from gallons of LAND O LAKES milk, orange juice or chocolate milk. More information.

Spiritwear

Our Spiritwear provider has opened a store in Delano! Bag Jo’s is owned and operated by a family with children in the Elementary School. Spirtwear can be purchased directly from the store, located near Coborn’s. As always, a percentage of each purchase goes back to our school. Information on ordering.

On-line Magazine Sales and Renewals

To renew or order new subscriptions, logon to www.qsp.com. Our school's account number is 425034541.

Too many magazines at your house? Don't want to order another one for yourself? Here's a way you can help our kids at DES enjoy a wide variety of magazines through the Media Center.

Make a donation to PIE (write magazine donation in the memo) and we'll pass that money along to the Media Center where they will order magazines at a staff discounted rate. All magazines will be for student use.

In recent years the Media Center budget has been reduced significantly, so there hasn't been funds for magazines. 100% of the money given for this project will go to the Media Center for magazines.
