Hi! My name is Christy Branes. I grew up in Two Harbors, Minnesota, on the North Shore of Lake Superior. I graduated from Augsburg College with a BA in Elementary Education and earned a Masters of Education from the University of Minnesota.

This year is my 35th year of teaching. I have taught Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third Grades. I taught in the Moundsview School District for several years before moving to Delano. I took a leave from Delano Schools in 2003 to 2007. While on leave, my husband, Joel, and I had the opportunity to live and work in Portugal. While living there I taught English in Portuguese schools and then Year One in an international school. We decided it was a perfect time in our lives to have an adventure! We love being back in Minnesota where we enjoy all four seasons. We have three adult children, Sonja, Karna, and Bjorn. We also have two precious grandchildren, Noah who is four and Ruby who is almost two. We currently live in Maple Grove.

In my spare time I love spending time with my family, walking, reading, and of course we do love to travel. I am excited to be at Delano Elementary, teaching Second Grade.
