My name is Ashlee Hunter and I would like to welcome you and your child to first grade! This is going to be a fun and exciting year. First grade is such a significant year for students academically and socially. To start our journey of learning about each other, I would like to tell you a little about myself.

This will be my first year teaching at Delano Elementary and my 4th year teaching elementary students. After completing two years of long term subbing in Prior Lake and Shakopee, and teaching one full year of first grade in Albert Lea. I am thrilled to have found a home at DES. I’ve had a variety of teaching experiences in public education, with most of my experiences in first and second grade. I am thrilled to be part of Delano Elementary staff this year and am looking forward to a fun school year.

I received my early childhood teaching license and degree from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 2006. Last December, I finished my coursework at St. Mary’s University to obtain my K-12 reading license.

When I am not at school I enjoy reading, spending time with my family and friends, watching hockey, cheering on the Minnesota Twins, shopping, running, exercising, listening to country music and being outside.

I have a true passion for reading and learning, which I love to share with my students. My goal is to provide your child with a joyful and enriching learning environment. I am thrilled to be part of this exciting time for your child! I know that together we can make your child’s 1st grade year at Delano Elementary memorable.
